Automating Aries Data Ingestion: Bringing Reserve Economics into the Tauris Platform

Tauris now automatically ingests and integrates Landmark Aries data files, eliminating manual exports and bringing reserve economics into a unified upstream data platform.

We're excited to announce that Tauris can now automatically ingest and integrate data files from Landmark's Aries economic evaluation software — one of the most widely used reserves and economics tools in upstream oil and gas.

For operators and reserve engineers who live in Aries, this means your economic scenarios, reserve estimates, and production forecasts no longer have to live in isolation. Tauris pulls them into the same data layer as your production actuals, accounting records, and operational data — automatically.

The Aries Export Problem

Anyone who works with Aries knows the workflow: run your economics, export to CSV or Excel, then manually join those results with production data or accounting numbers in a separate spreadsheet. Every time parameters change or a new scenario is run, the process starts over.

This creates two problems:

  • Stale data — The exported file is out of date the moment it's created. Decisions get made on last month's economics because nobody has time to re-export and re-join.
  • Manual reconciliation — Matching Aries well identifiers to production system identifiers to accounting system identifiers is tedious, error-prone work that doesn't scale.

What We Built

Tauris automates the entire ingestion pipeline for Aries data files:

  • Automatic file detection — Tauris monitors for Aries export files and processes them as they arrive. No manual upload, no drag-and-drop, no scheduled reminders.
  • Schema recognition — The platform recognizes Aries data file structures and maps fields automatically to the Tauris data model. Column name variations, custom fields, and different export configurations are handled without manual mapping.
  • Well matching — AI-powered matching links Aries well records to the corresponding wells in your production and accounting systems, even when naming conventions differ across platforms.
  • Continuous sync — As new Aries files are generated, Tauris ingests and integrates them automatically. Your reserve economics stay current alongside your production and financial data.

Why This Matters

Reserve economics don't exist in a vacuum. The value of an Aries forecast depends on how it compares to actual production, actual costs, and actual revenue. When reserve data sits next to production actuals in the same platform, your team can:

  • Compare forecasts to actuals — Identify wells that are outperforming or underperforming Aries type curves without building a separate comparison spreadsheet.
  • Cross-validate data — Flag discrepancies between what Aries models predict and what your production and accounting systems report.
  • Accelerate reporting — Generate reserve reports that incorporate live production data instead of static snapshots.

The Bigger Picture

Aries integration is a critical piece of the Tauris vision: connecting every major data source an upstream operator relies on into a single, always-current platform. With production data, reserves economics, and our growing integration catalog, we're building the data foundation that makes everything else — forecasting, QAQC, reporting, and eventually AI-driven automation — possible.

If your team runs Aries and you're tired of the export-join-reconcile cycle, we'd love to show you what automated ingestion looks like.
